The model number, no success. There is another number 1G1B6840210. I did notice that the axel pulled out about 6 inches when I pulled on one of the wheels.

No, it has solid axel. The right wheel can be pulled out to free wheel it.

I'm going to send you a manual from a similar blower (MTD makes them al) See page 13 of 19 for e-ring locations. the e-ring near the large gear may hve come off and the big gear that drives it may have slid over and key is out. http://1drv.ms/20rBRAB
