Did your lights stop working suddenly? Can you get the model numbers from under your seat for me?

Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

When your lights were working properly, would they come on when your engine was not running?

Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

This will help me to determine whether your lights are ac or dc, until I can pull up a wiring diagram, using your model numbers.

I was troubleshooting a start problem and jumped the battery to the starater to test the starter. That problem was a valve adjustment, resolved. Lights worked at one time.
Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

It is very likely that your lights work from AC voltage. Check your voltage with your engine running at higher rpms. You may need to pierce your positive wire, in order to get a better reading. Also, check to see if you are getting a good ground to your light sockets.

Ok, will troubleshoot tomorrow. Raining now. Thx

You are very welcome! Do you have a multimeter? If so, check the output from your stator/alternator. If your stator is bad, this will prevent your headlights from working.

Also, check for loose connections along your lighting circuit. Let me know what you find tomorrow. Thanks!

David, thanks for the model numbers. I pulled up a wiring schematic. I have confirmed that your lights are ac powered. With this wiring schematic, you and I can do some troubleshooting tomorrow, to find our problem.

Check your light switch too. You have a great day.
