Customer Question

I have a gentry 6500 generator that comes on and works but it sounds like it's constantly throttling back and forth in a cycle the whole time. With and without load. It doesn't do that when I starts with choke and runs consistent on choke.

Hello, and thank you for choosing Just Answer. My name is***** will be happy to assist you.

Many times, if our engine throttles back and forth, and will only run constant, if your choke is on, indicates that you either have a partially clogged carburetor, or you have a restriction in your fuel flow.

If you are getting a steady, full flow of fuel to your carburetor, then it is very likely that your carburetor will need a really good cleaning.

One of the small jets, or fuel passages, inside your carburetor is very likely clogged. We can continue from here. Thanks!
