had to replace the starter solenoid and think I got the wiring messed up. please tell me what color wires go to what post.

The rapid clicking is dead battery or low voltage to the solenoid!

Solenoid will have two large posts, the posiitve cable (red ) goes to one of the large post, on the same post will be small red wire, that has fuse and goes to the keyswitch for power to key and dash. The other large post gets only the cable going to the starter. The two small posts, one is wire from key to switch terminal, and the other is the ground side of circuit. Does not matter which side of these are used.
