Small Engine Troubleshooting Problems? Ask a Mechanic Now.
Hi, my name is***** will be assisting you.
Can you tell me if your machine has an auto idle control on it? If not then the engine runs at one speed from the time it is started until you shut it off and there is no changing the speed, this is the way that the machine is designed. It will run at around 3750 rpm constantly the entire that it is running in order to produce the proper output voltage to operate and tools or other equipment. If it has the auto idle control, then it would drop back to a lower speed when there is no voltage pull on the genset but this is done through a idle control circuit that would have been built into the machine from new.
I hope that this information helps you.
