Try a jumper wire from toggle to the switch terminal on the solenoid. The wire may not be carrying enough amps to solenoid.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

If it works, replace wire with next size larger wire.

Where where is the selinoid
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Solenoid is at the end of the positive battery cable!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
at the end of the positive cable is the starter
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

That is starter with solenoid.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Small, single wire post is the switch terminal.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I took the starter apart and all was in good condition it will spin and engage when jumped All selenoids I am familiar with look somewhat alike I see nothing like that on this engine
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

From your engine model number, the starter has a single terminal, which cable to it, should come from relay/solenoid!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have had Complete cover off and you are right about switch wire on single post .I checked that and it is hot . I would think that wire would go to the selinoid but the best I can tell it goes to the hot cable terminal and then to the battery I saw no solenoid in that area

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
