I think I left the switch on and fuel solenoid is bad it gets really hot but why did it empty the gas tank into the motor and mix with the oil
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Fuel solenoid does NOT shut off the fuel! That is the job of the needle valve and float in the carburetor.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Solenoid is anti-backfire solenoid, and keeps engine from backfiring when key is turned off.

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

The solenoid will get hot, as it has to activate if key is on.

I need to replace needle valve and float or the whole caburetor
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Yes, or install a fuel shutoff in the fuel line from the tank! And shut off the fuel between uses!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
why did it mix with my oil and the mower was not running
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.

Fuel runs from carburetor, into the intake, and enters the crankcase through the vent hose!
