This is usually a sign that the seat switch is not working correctly.

That is if it sounds like it is just shutting off.

If it sounds like it is bogging down, you may have bad bearings or something that is keeping the moweer deck from turning easily. But my best suggestion is the seat switch is bad or the wiring to it is not working right.

How do I check the seat switch..

Disconnect the seat switch wires and then take a jumper wire and connect the two wires together. IT should work correctly then. Do not use the mower without repairing the seat switch as it cold be dangerous .
