I would like to pull up a wiring schematic specifically for your mower. Do you see a set of numbers under your seat, that begin with the number 9604?
Can you get the remainder of these numbers for me?
Thanks again. I would like to confirm something. Would your engine start up and run, before you replaced your broken pto switch?
The reason I asked, is because if your engine was starting when your old switch was in place, but will not start with your new switch in place, we need to determine if your new switch, is the correct switch for your mower. Although it look identical, it could be configured internally for a different mower.
Do you have the part numbers for the switch you purchased from Tractor Supply? Do you still have the package?
Do you see a brand name on your package/box?
Do you see Cub Cadet, or MTD on your package?
These are only troubleshooting questions ...
It is very possible that you have the wrong pto switch. I would like for you to try something.
Remove your new pto switch, and put your old switch back in place. Let's see if your engine will start up.
Are you familiar with using jumper wires?
With the use of a jumper wire, we can determine if you have the correct switch.
I would like to make a suggestion to you, based upon the fact, that your engine would start, prior to you putting in the new pto switch.
I suggest that you return your new pto switch to Tractor Supply, and go to a Cub Cadet dealer, or a small engine repair shop, to purchase a new pto switch.
This way we will know you have the correct switch.
