I have an Onan BGE 4000 Gen Set powering My off grid cabin.

Customer Question

I have an Onan BGE 4000 Gen Set powering My off grid cabin.
S No. F923928837
MN No. 4BEFA261003
It has an Eaton 12 V propane shut off valve in the propane line ahead of the Garretson pleasant 10 WA 52C4T Model KN Low pressure regulator inside the Generator house just before the engine. We also have a low pressure regulator on the 500 Gal propane tank 30 ft away from the Generator house.
Our Propane company (Cenex) Wants to change the supply tank to a High pressure 10 psi regulator and install a low pressure regulator .5 psi on the outside of the Generator house.
Will this work and if not what changes do I have to make?

Why is the gas company wanting to change the primary regulator?

What they are wanting to do would work, as long as the secondary regulator outside the gen house does not exceed about 11" W.C. The demand regulator inside the genset can not handle pressures higher than that.
