On the garage door opener, there is a red terminal for the low voltage control, and a grey terminal. Which one is for the wired in button?

Please look on the opener and get the nameplate Make and Model number, so the correct specifications can be obtained.

Normally, the button will wire to the 1st and 2nd terminals, left to right

The safety photo eyes wire to the 2nd and 3rd if only 3 terminals or the 3rd and 4th if it has 4 terminals.

Older units shared one terminal and newer units had separate ones for the safety eyes.
