Customer Question

Brand new time master 30" (< 3 hours operation) stopped in the middle of mowing. Was not out of gas. Oil was added at setup, 93 octane gas used, with stabilizer. Cannot start it.

I would like to confirm something. Are you saying that your engine will spin, but not start up, or, are you saying that you get nothing when you turn your key to start position?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
This is a pull start. Engine will not start.
Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

Thank you for this information. Have you checked to see if you are getting spark to your spark plug?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, but plug is fully connected - and brand new.
Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

Okay. Let's try something. Do you have some carburetor cleaner in a can. If so, spray a small burst directly into your carburetor, to see if your engine will start briefly.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK. Will take a minute.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Engine started before test of carb cleaner. No fuel visible in fuel filter now.
Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

It is normal for fuel to not be visible in your fuel filter. So, your engine started without carburetor cleaner??

Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

How are you coming along?

Expert:  Donald replied 1 year ago.

We need to determine if your engine shut down , due to a restriction in your fuel flow, or due to a safety feature shorting down your ignition.
