Fuel going into or out of hose when disconnected. when I

fuel going into carburetor or out of hose when disconnected. when I spray engine starter fuel into carb it starts up until that fuel runs out.

Do you have a fuel solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor?

There will be wires or a wire going to it if you do. The first thing would be to check and make sure that you are getting power to that solenoid when the ignition switch is turned to the on position. If you are not getting power to it then the engine will not run on its own until you get power to it.
