Same generator, the Yamaha YG6600DE, but almost the opposite

Customer Question

Same generator, the Yamaha YG6600DE, but almost the opposite problem. With the economy switch on and the 120v off the generator will idle very low like it should. But the moment you flip the 120 v switch on then the generator will run wide open defeating the economy switch. This is without anything connected to the generator pulling a load. Please advise as to what is happening. Thanks!

My name is ***** ***** I am going to assist you with this.
Have you done any work to this genset recently?
Check all the wiring behind the control panel, and make sure you don't have a short in one of the wires somewhere.
The unit comes off idle when it senses current flowing. So if it is coming off idle, there is current going somewhere.
