I have an mtd yardman that is difficult to turn. the front

Customer Question

i have an mtd yardman that is difficult to turn. the front wheels toe out. however, i can see no damage to tie rods or spindles that could cause the problem and adjustment of the tie rods did not fully align the wheels. obviously, something is going on. what could it be if it not a twisted axle, bent tie rod, etc.? the axle bushings and wheel bearings are in good condition.
please advise

need the model number of the unit! Is tie rod one piece or two?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the model# ***** ***** THE TIE OD IS 2 PIECES,
1.THE SCREW ON PART WITH BALL JOINT
2. AND ROD.HOWEVER, ADJUSTMENTS OF TIE RODS HAVE NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

So rods are just straight rods, with adjustable ball joints. If wheels cant be adjusted, the ear the tie rod goes on the spindle end can be bent. Do both spindle ears measure the same from spindle shaft to ear hole? Can you bend the ear to change the distance and give more adjustment?
