Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you.

This machine weighs approximately 4273 pounds.

You will have to find a replacement key. Once you do this you can try to start it by jumping it. You could purchase a battery if you feel comfortable that the machine is okay. I wouldn't put a battery in until I knew if the engine would engine even crank over or not.

How do I find a replacement key?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hard to believe it weighs that much...doesn't look like it really...
Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 1 year ago.

The Toro part number for the ignition key is(###) ###-#### You can search the internet to see if you can find them offered for sale or locate you nearest authorized Toro commercial/grounds care equipment dealer and they should be able to provide the key for you.

If you have any additional questions feel free to ask.

Are you sure about the weight?
Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 1 year ago.

The weight information was taken right from Toro's website. The specs are given there for that machine. They have two 4500-D machines listed but they both show the same weight information.

Is that part number that you provided for the ignition key just for a key itself? Or is it a whole thing I hafts swap out ignitions or something...?
Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 1 year ago.

The number that I provided is the key only. It did look like it was a set of two.

I am to understand then that there's just one key for all these types of machine? One fits all kinda deal?
Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 1 year ago.

Based on the information in the Toro parts diagram. Yes, you are correct it is like a one size fits all.

Is this machine gas or diesel?
Expert:  JohnF2015 replied 1 year ago.

All 4500-D models were diesel unless someone has changed it.
