I need to confirm something. Are you needing to know how to stretch your spring enough to attach the opposite end?

I can tell you how to stretch your spring. Gather a piece of rope that is about three to four feet long. Loop the rope over the hook on your spring, and double your rope, to make two ends. Now, pull your spring, using your rope, and attach it.

If you have a piece of rope from an old lawnmower, or chainsaw, it will work for this purpose as well.
