If you remove spark plug, and ground the plug, do you have spark?
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
If you have spark , do you have compression? Hold finger with rag over the spark plug hole, to see if it has enough compression to move your finger.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I believe it has compression. Seems to be no spark. I tried starting fluid and s new plug. Neither helped. It stopped when I got off the mower and the protection circuit killed it. It's almost like that circuit is still on even though I'm sing on the seat. I can see how the switch works and it seems okay.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When there is enough weight on the seat, it completes a circuit. When you get off, it breaks it. That mechanism looks okay
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
If engine is spinning, the seat switch is ok.

Remove the kill wire from the coil and see if engine runs.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry, I had that backwards. Sitting on the seat breaks the circuit
