Did you clean up the crankshaft with sandpaper before trying to install the clutch?

A good slick shaft and key, should let clutch slid up easily!

yes, even took a file to edges to be certain no burres were there. it doesnt appear as if this is a removable key, do you know if it is. really at a loss and it appears ive done all you guys can think of.

Is the key in the crankshaft? If it is , it comes out!
Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
it may be long and is also under the top drive pulley
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

it is not on the crankshaft

Its in the clutch, does not come out!

the problem is the interior shaft in the clutch part that has the key made into it is independant of the clutch part and the pulley part. when you place it up onto the crankshaft it moves and you cant tell where it is in the lineup process. I guess i cannot put the bolt in at all and must get the clutch up onto the shaft in one move, thats what i am trying now.
