The deck brake assy. (both sides) squeaks on my Troy-Bilt

Customer Question

Hi, the deck brake assy. (both sides) squeaks on my Troy-Bilt Bronco, is this normal, are my brake pads worn, should use a light coat of lubricant on the pulley groove, the belt looks good, what would yo suggest to stop this noise.

Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! Brakes should only touch when the blades are off. Then the brakes should stop the pulleys from turning. Either they need some adjustment or the linkage on the deck for the brake levers is binding and need some lite oil, like WD 40.
