Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! Takes special tool, but if you have a small piece of vacuum line or a small straw , that will slip over the screw shaft, you can usually turn the screws. Some have 4mm hexs that can be turned with 4mm deep socket! Most have limiters on them that limit the screw turn to about 60 degrees.

Can I remove the housing and use a shallow socket?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
No, screw is too long.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

The deep 4mm socket is a for sure tool?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 1 year ago.
Not sure, do you see a small hex on the bottom of the screw?
