Hello, and thank you for choosing JustAnswer. I'll be helping you today and am committed to providing clear and concise answers to your question.Have you checked that the linkage is actually moving the arm on the transaxle? Is the belt sufficiently tight so that it's not slipping? Any wear to the belt or pulleys?
Yes linkage is moving. And the belt seems tight , tension pulley seems to be working
Have you checked the brake for any binding? This really sounds more like an internal problem with a check valve, but I want to rule out all possible external problems first, since repair would require removal. You mentioned that you did purge the unit? The oil level was okay?
I will check the brake. The oil level i have not checked i thought it was a sealed unit. Please advise on how to check trans mission fluid and what kind to use
Here's the oil info on that trans:
how do you reach it to check? let alone fill it
Unfortunately, that's why it's not a procedure listed in the owner's manual. It's really designed to be checked on the bench after removal. But that's pretty drastic, and I've seen low oil be the culprit on many occasions. On yours as I recall the easiest way is to remove the bolts holding the rear panel in place (with the hitch) and go at it from the rear. I don't think that model give access under the seat. But if this one has the battery under the seat, you can remove the battery and box and go in from above.
removed rear panel oil level is excellent. i can see belt better every thing there looks good. forward gears only pop in and out when engine is running at high rpm's and shifter lever is all the way forward {fast} no other forward speeds are working. reverse works fine
Unfortunately, this sounds like an internal failure then. Since you are experiencing a problem only in forward, I relly suspect a bad check valve as being the most likely cause. This would require removal, disassembly, and inspection. They are not complicated, and internal parts are available, but they are labor intensive since it has to be removed from the tractor. I can supply a repair manual to guide you through the process if it would help?
please
