corded mower 50220 can be started and but then tripped the power line in a few second
Optional Information: Make: earthwise Model: 50220 Already Tried: tried to start couple times, everytime it started for a few minutes and then tripped the power. I then reset the power but it will trip the power again if I try to re-start. I checked electric circuit and did not find anything obvious wrong.
Sounds like the electric motor is bad. When you say it trips out are you referring to the breaker in the electrical panel? Have you tried to plug it in to another circuit to see if it does the same thing?
I tried for a few times with different plug and it tripped new one again.
Yes, it trips out referring the the breaker in the panel
Does it run at all before it trips out?
never mind I see you told me that
run for a few seconds. I even removed the cover and viewed the engine run and then stopped
I am asuming it ran fine the last time you used it?
Yes about a month ago
Does it spin free by hand?
yes it spin freely
If it spins free then I would say that the start run circuit is faulty. Are you electrically inclined?
I can do something if you can direct me.
It should spin free like it does. And the fact that it starts for a short while tells me it is not in the wiring.
I am thinking the run may create an over current which trip the breaker, how can I verify that?
My only problem here is that it is not something that is easy to explain. You would need to find the run contactor and see if it is working properly. It is activated by fly weights most likely on the top of the motor. This is more than likely what is causing your problem.
Can I get back to you in a few hours and I will try to walk you threw it?
I would need a picture of the top of the unit with the cover removed.
yes. i am looking at the manual and could not find the fly weight

the link I sent will give your the manual
that manual only shows parts of the machine but not part breakdown
I do not know. I just give what I have. Can you help any further?
i am waiting all day for your picture as you said to me but no reply since then.
I need you to send me a picture of the mower with the top removed....
If I have a picture I can help you with this further. A close up of the top of the motor also... I need to see how the start run circuit works on your mower...
I am sorry for the delay but had a family emergency and had to leave town. I am trying to help you from the weighting room of the hospital now...
Thanks for your effort. talk to you later
