I need a “cylinder shaft" which, according to my Parts Catalog, is Part # XXXXX I have seen the part number (SearsParts Direct website) as W20301000.Where do I find one? Thanks.

Are you sure we are talking about the same part: a “cylinder shaft” (W2030903) for a Super Tomahawk Chipper/Shredder, formerly manufactured by Garden Way Manufacturing Company in Troy, New York? Not an “Auger Assembly Housing 21.”
Garden way owned troy-bilt until they went bankrupt (after buying bolens) and the company was split in three pieces.MTD got some of it, and Murray got some of it.the part you are asking forGW-W2030903the GW stands for Garden WayIt was discontinued and replaced by a larger assembly which is GW-WSBK200that is a Auger Assembly Housing 21" Again, the GW standing for Garden WayProblem is, when companies start going bankrupt, the consolidate their assets to avoid goin broke. So they make as many units to sell, and make very few replacement partsIn the end, there just were not many replacement parts. Now, I am first asuming that you provided me the first part number correctly. There are few parts for these available newand there is a GOOD market for these parts used.We have parted out Many of the chipper vacs and chiper shredders and sold the parts on ebay and web siteswe get double what we can get selling it whole.I just do not have what you want now, but that is why I suggested getting a replacement working or parts unit from craigs list
MTD part GW-W20301000 has been changed to MTD part GW-WSK100
But, That number is XXXXX Bearing CupPart Number: GW-WSK100So I think it is time to start over with the part diagram and make 100% sure the part number you are providing is correct
The “cylinder shaft” part number (W2030903) comes from my Parts Catalog, The Garden Way Super Tomahawk Chipper/Shredder and Tomahawk Shredder (CAT-57 11/84), Drawing One.
The part is also referred to as a “cylinder shaft” part number W20301000 in the following website:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/W20301000/0071/987?pathTaken=directMatch&filterPart=&pop=flush&prst=0&shdPart=W20301000
I see you are looking on this diagramhttp://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Troybilt-Parts/Chipper-shredder-Parts/Model-SUPERTOMAHAWK8HP/1307/1503320/00048428/00001
Yup, part 2 on diagram.
YEP, and that part number was replaced by the number I gave you which is not available.
So, I think we ran that rabbit down the hole. My next step is to do a nationwide search (Craig’s List or EBay) for either a) cylinder shaft (W2030903), b) Auger Assembly Housing 21” (GW-WSBK200), or c) whole units.
Like kidney transplants, can I put my name (and part number) on some list for contact if and when a Cylinder Shaft or Auger Assembly Housing 21” becomes available?
Thanks very much for your help!
You can actually create a search and then save the result link as a favorite with the site that I gave you. In that case create three separate searches. I doubt seriously anything will show up but hey why not try. Also you can create a custom search in the eBay for those numbersAnd make sure that you also include searching the description. Make your shirts charm very short in this case I would say Troy built and then the part number only. Then you save this search as a favorite search and you can head eBay notify you anytime a match ever shows up. For three months six months a year how everlong you wanted to be done.
Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX all your help.
you are welcome.
I am sending this message just to clear a flag that says that you are waiting an expert reply. I see no follow up question. So I assume it was a glitch. So, again, I say thanks for using our service. I wish we could have fully satisfied you. And I wish we could have "pulled the part from thin air", but this happens when a company goes out of business because of poor management decisions and financial and then is split up. Good luck.
