i got valves adjusted .compression 120 to 110lb.still runs bad no power both cyl. are fireing.does not rev,back fires.can u give me any ideas

Did you try running without the air filter on? Did you refer to manual to make sure linkage is installed properly? Try adjusting the governor.Were you able to open the service manual link above?

yes ran it with out air cleaner .it does rev but it is real sluggish.i tried opening throttle valve by hand its sluggish .is it possible the muffler could be plugged.i tried choking it at wide open thottle no change

adjusted gov.as per manual no change.it sounds like timing is retarded .it back fires thru carb when is shut off it back fires thru exhaust

Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! Have you removed the flywheel and replaced the key? It only takes a small amount of deviation for the key to throw the timing off. I assume the engine has not been apart, where the internal timing between the crank and cam could be off one tooth. Is the coil positioned correctly on the flywheel with .010 clearance? MUffler could be checked, just loosen up the flanges and try it. do you have the electric solenoid in the base of the carburetor? It could be blocking the main jet opening.???
