Tim K :

Hello, welcome to Just Answers. My name is XXX, XXX I would like to help you with your question

Tim K :

It sounds like your brake rod may be stuck in the rear on the transmission

Tim K :

it would be on the right side of the tranny. there is a rod going back from the brake linkage. and this actuates a pivot with a small brake pad and wheel behind it. this pivot point gets stuck, and will 'freeze' up the transmission. locate this, and you can usually put something like a long screw driver, or extension, and push the top back forward, releasing the brake linkage

Hi Tim. I can see all the parts that you're talking about but I can't see the top in order to see if it's stuck. It seems that the brake returns all the way up but I'm not real sure. I'm trying to figure out how to access this pivot and brake pad without a teardown. Any ideas on that? Thank you - Jerry

Tim K :

normally you can take an extension of some sort, and hit the top part where the rod comes back and connects to the pivot.
also, if you can get to the side of it, sometimes tapping in on the side while someone pulls the brake pedal up (off) will let it free up

Customer :

It looks like that did the trick. The relief rod was stuck also. I kept pulling on it until

it decided to come loose. The next morning the tractor free-wheeled. Thank you, Tim.

Tim K :

you are quite welcome. glad you got it going!
Let me know if there is anything i can assist you with in the future. always glad to help
