Customer Question

I have a BS 8HP tiller engine with a clutch starter rewind. The new alternate park requires removing the clutch housing and installing a cup and cutting the shaft off to the threads. Is the clutch housing threades and will remove by turning counter-clockwise? Model XXXXXXXXXX 01.

Hello,it is standard thread and unscrews ccw.The clutch center will usually just spin and you have to remove by turning the round housing part.Not everyone has a special tool to remove it but you can use a screwdriver and hammer to remove it.Put the screwdriver or punch on one of the little ears the screen is screwed on with and tap it to loosen the starter clutch
