Hello and welcome to Just Answer,

The spark plug is located on the front of the engine. The spark plug wire is visible. The spark plug is actually down in the cylinder head.See attached link and you can see the spark plug wire going down the front of the engine and to the spark plug.

The engine you showed me does not look like mine. Are you showing me the CV156?

There is not such engine as a cv156. The engine is a CV15S. The picture I posted will have the same exterior features as your engine with the exception of the one shown having a pull starter. Your engine does not have a pull starter. The spark plug location will be in the same location.

If the spark plug is not the reason the mower won't start; what other suggestions do you have for resolving the problem?

I think the problem is likely a plugged up jet in the carburetor. The entire carburetor will need to be taken apart, cleaned, and rebuilt. Here is a link to help with the carburetor. Your local dealer should have the kit in stock.
