Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !! The deck is not identified by the tractor model. It has its own number. Is this a 48 or 60 inch deck? I have manual on a 301 series, 48 inch deck.?

Customer replied 344 days and 13 hours ago.

I changed the deck from 38" to a 42" the deck. The deck didn't have a # XX it. I used it all last summer and replaced the belt the other day and now I have the problem that When I move the lever to tighten both belts it lossenes the one on the deck . But the belt on motor is tight. the belt on the motor has not been repaced. I replace the idler pully on the deck. everything on the deck is ok and what it should be cause I used it and it mowed fine last year.

I was told the deck is model # XXXX, but not for certain. We bought it from a dealer and it was it the junk pile and I repaired it 2 years ago and has worked fine on this tractor. can't figure why it is doing this.

2145 is a tractor just like the 2130. Neither show a deck, Cub Cadet always sold the deck separate. It sounds like the belt is on the deck wrong. Let me look for a like 42 inch deck.

Customer replied 344 days and 13 hours ago.

I have put several belts on this deck and never had this problem before. I ' sure I have the belt on correct. It can only go on one way.when I put the belt and tighten the tension it is tight. when i put the deck on the tractor and lossen tension to hook up other belt from motor then I tighten it back up it never tighten the belt on the mower deck. but it does tighten the motor belt. I have checked and it is still in the correct postion on the pullys. Just desn't tighten that belt up.

Go to the cub cadet site, i will show it last, click on the parts and service tag at the right top bar. On the left under customer service is Operators manuals. Click on it and the screen will ask for model number and serial number, input 2145, s/n 239002. hit search, it will pull up two models 1994 or 1995, pick one and down load the manual. It has the 42 inch deck and all the information in it. It is big download, but should be worth the effort. http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TopCategoriesDisplay?storeId=10051&catalogId=14101
