Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !!Coil has single kill wire going to the on/off switch. If you ground this wire does the unit shut off? If it does, the switch is not grounding the wire or the switch is bad.

Hi Curtis,
Sorry about the delay but I had to go out and I am now leaving for a meeting so Icannot check your solution till to-morrow but I willget back to you then .

Trace the wire to the magneto, it could be off the magneto. It is all there is to kill the spark.

Hi Curtis,
Having checked the connection to the magneto everything seems to be o.k. so I have now renewed the wiring between the magneto and the switch. Unfotunately the rain is now torrential so I will have to wait until after work to -morrow to check again. I will let you know the outcome to-morrow.

Could you send the rain our way? Texas

Customer replied 337 days and 18 hours ago.

Ht Curtis,
Well the rain has stopped and so has my mower. It looks as if the re-wiring has cured the problem. Anyway thanks for your help and I hope it rains there soon. It has not stopped here sice the beginning of April and yet we have a hosepipe ban in the South of England.
Regards.
Gordon.
