Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !!
Remove the spark plug and with it grounded to metal, see if you have a spark at the plug when cranking. If you do, put about a teaspoon of fuel direct into the spark plug hole, re-install the spark plug, and then see if it will fire for few seconds. If it does, the float bowl on the carburetor needs to be removed and the needle valve and float cleaned.
it tried firing up yesterday i thought it was but then it did not. i will see a spark when cranking if the plug is out?
If you have the plug grounded, you will see spark at the tip of the plug.
