Welcome to JUST ANSWER small engines, let me try to help you !!

The year is on the plate at the passenger glove box. It will start with a letter and then 3 or 4 numbers, example K0345, this would be a 2003, using the first two numbers.

curtis b :

If unit will go forward, the reverse switch is most likely the problem. It is what reverses the current to the motor.

Here is site showing the various f/r switches. You might be able to repair the switch, just depending on what your year model is and how it is made. Some have replaceable tips.

Let me know. Thank you.

The only thing on the plate in glove box area is the serail number and a manufacturer code: H2090.

The cart does not have a switch to change directions, it is a red lever that is about 9 inches long, moving the lever to the left is forward, to the right is reverse. The lever is attached to two cables and the reverse cable appears to be broken or disconnected.

Ok, sorry, you have a gas cart, not an electric. You need to go the transmission lever at the rear, and with the tires off the ground, unhook the directional cable and shift the transmission manually. If it works both forward and reverse, you can try adjusting the cable, or you might find you need a new cable.
