hOW CAN I TELL IF IT IS THE CYLINDER HEAD OR THE CYLINDER GASKET THAT HAS BEEN BLOWN
Optional Information: Make: JHON DEERE Model: 757
Hi, and thank you for letting me try and assist you with your problem. The cylinder head doesn't blow. The gasket blows generally because either the gasket fails, It's not torqued properly, or the head is warped. In the case the head is warped you have to have a granite flat surface so you can check the head for warpage with long feeler gauges. The maximum amount of warpage is generally .005 inNow if you get the head off and look at the gasket look for a spot where it's blown out.If the gasket is damaged it's usually just a gasket failure.
