I have a Yamaha YDRE 2007 the solenod will not energize when key is turned on. If I jump the neg side of the coil it will work. Were is the circuit missing?

Hi, and thank you for letting me try and assist you with your problem.
There's a pedal switch that has to be made to energize the solenoid.
Jumping it bypasses everything so that just tells you the motor is good.
Since you tested the forward/reverse switch that helps.
But what are you calling the main switch? The key switch?
If so then you've narrowed it down to the pedal switch or the solenoid.
