where does governor spring attach on 3.5 hp engine, on carb or lever for throttle?
Make: Briggs/Stratton 3.5
Model: Easy start
I took carb off to clean bowl and forgot where
spring re-attaches on carb side
Hello, can you supply the engine numbers ? They may be stamped into the housing above the muffler.
VINCE ,Did you get my reply #s XXX-XXXXXX
No, those numbers are for a Tecumseh
briggs would be 125k02-0151-01
It might be a Tecumseh ,Its a Sears 20 inch push mower
I wasn't aware that is what they used but I guess at one time they were popular
That's all Sears used years ago. The engine crosses over to Tecumseh's TVS90-43526G. i will look for info
Click here Diagrams 26,27 and 30 are very similar to yours.

Vince, I just have one rod from govenor arm to a throttle lever saying low / high so I assume spring would go
On one side or the other on butterfly arm?
Let me look for a better diagram
See if this is any better linkage
I think thats it . I must have dropped rod off of spring. Thanks you. Chuck
