Can you supply more information? That's a rather generalized question. Most often seizures are because of inadequate lubrication and/or over-heating, but that may not be the case in your particular circumstance. Can you give me additional details please?

mower had oil in it. It was running,shut itself down,and will not restart.

What engine? How old an engine? What kind of oil? How much? How old was the oil? Running on hills? Heavy cutting?
