I have a Briggs and Stratton 450 Series Lawn Mower, 148 ccs

Customer Question

I have a Briggs and Stratton 450 Series Lawn Mower, 148 ccs and would like to know how to adjust or control the slow running of the engine.   There seems to be no slow running screw only two very weak springs connected to the arm of the very basic carburetor.

Hi Chris, this is Dave, the Small Engine Doctor. Can you please supply the model and type number of the engine. They are either stamped somewhere on the blower housing or there is a stick on tag sometimes, also on the blower hsg. I will then be able to answer your question.

Hi Chris, I'm having trouble I.D.ing your numbers. Where did you get them?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
Hi Dave - the details were on a label ontop of the lawn mower to the rear of the engine

The only other detail was on the top of the engine which identified it as
a Briggs and Stratton Classic 450 series 148 ccs.

Regards
Chris
