my basic senseo coffee maker (brand-new) plugged in,
the rinse went as expected.
inserted a pod, pressed the 'one cup button..
and NO lights and nothing happened…HELP, desperate house wife...

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear that!
This coffee maker is defective unfortunately.
Its nothing you did wrong.
When this happened the unit failed.
You can try one thing , unplug the coffee maker for 5 full minutes then plug it back in. Make sure there is actually power at the outlet first by checking that with a lamp or some other appliance;-)
If all is well there, let me know if you now get lights?
If not, you will need to return the coffee maker for a free replacement. In this case your coffee maker is still fully covered under the warranty;-)
