I have an Electrolux ergorapido ultra plus, rechargable vacuum. The bristle stops rotating after a few seconds of being used. I opened the bottom, removed the bristle unit, and cleaned it all off, as well as cleaned the unit where it sits. still same problem. it even happens if i just hold the entire unit in the air, and watch the bristles....they spins for 10~20 seconds, then stop.

any ideas?
The battery is bad internally and needs replaced. Contact the manufacturer for parts.

I checked and the only way to get the battery is to order the whole hand vac assembly which is at this link. You would need to remove the screws from the handvac and locate the rechargeable battery pack, take it to a local electronics store and match one up. You may need to solder the new one in.
