My Bissell upright vacuum model 3910-T has been making a very loud noise. In an effort to solve the problem, I have looked thoroughly through the vacuum to see whether something is stuck and see no obstruction. I ordered and just replaced the belt connected with the roller, since the old belt was three years old. None of the above has eliminated the noise. Suction is fine, but it sounds like it needs a muffler. Where should I look next?
Optional Information: Brand: Bissell Type of Appliance: Other Already Tried: 1. Opened casing and looked through all hoses for obstruction or loose parts. I see nothing out of place. 2. Replaced belt connected with roller. 3. Replaced filter below container that holds dust.
Chances are the motor bearing is bad. You would need to replace the whole motor to fix that problem.
Replacing the vacuum cleaner would be approximately $100. Do you have any sense of what parts and labor would cost to replace the motor?
It would be around $60-$75 so I would suggest getting another unit if they are that inexpensive.
