whirlpool model RF111PXSQ won't heat food on top. Element on bttm works OK but is the top element supposed to come on sometime? If so what could b wrong?

Broiler element works on broil, both hi and low.

when you first turn the oven on bake and preheat does the broil element come on for a few minutes and not any more after that?
No broiler element doesn't come on at all.
on this style you have the broil does not come on when it bake and only when in broil or it would burn up the food your cooking
So y is food cold on top,shouldn't the broiler come on ocassionally to heat the top? What's the odds of it being the control.
i see what your saying now ,, you need to replace the oven switch, its part number 9762215 and you just remove the knob and the back panel from the control panel to swap it out and you can get it at a local appliance parts dealer near you
