People v. Royall
Royall convicted of three murders and one assault with intention to murder claims he did not know his accomplices intended to kill the victims. Accordingly, Royall argues, there was no premeditation.
STATE OF LOUISIANA v. PATRICK EUGENE HOLDEN
Holden argues that the extent of injuries suffered by the victim could have been induced by the victim’s drunken state, the prescription drugs he took under physician supervision and falling. Even though the Holden did engage in a fight with the victim and the victim later died, Holden charges he should have been charged with manslaughter based on the evidence. He also argues that he had ineffective counsel.
