Customer Question

We have a 2003 Saturn ion 2 4 cyl. A few weeks ago, my husband started the car and the engine was missing. Very little power running on 2 cylinders. Couldn't get it above 15 Kim. The car has never had a tuneup. Plugs never changed. We were told we should change the plugs, the coil pack and maybe the ignition module. We have replaced these parts but it won't start. What else could be wrong?
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: We put a new battery in the car in June 2016.
JA: Are you fixing your Ion yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: We are trying to repair it ourselves. We replaced the plugs coil pack with the plate and the ignition module
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: We live on disability. The car probably needs another oil change because the oil was pretty old. I'm afraid it needs a head gasket.
