What is moderately loud clicking sound coming from V6 engine

Customer Question

What is moderately loud clicking sound coming from V6 engine on 07 VUE when starting and idling, still present when driving but not as loud. 125000 miles.
JA: Have you double-checked the battery? And are the wiring connections to and from the starter in good shape?
Customer: it doesn't start clicking until engine is running.
JA: Are you fixing your VUE yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No. It just started yesterday. Engine oil and differential fluid changed 5 days ago, along with transmission flush.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Only if this could be a significant and costly problem to repair.
