Ok, if it is inot in your neighbor's manual, he must not have a hybrid specific manual as it is a legitimate code

I have worked on many of these hybrids and in each case, this code has been due to a faulty generator, so I have no doubt that yours is in need of it being replaced.
My only advice in making a decision to have an independent tech do this job is to make sure they understand the dynamics involved in this replacement as he will be working on a 144v system. A mistake when working on this system can not only result in further parts failing, but can in fact cause fatal electrocution of the tech if he does not use the required grounding glove while working on the vehicle.
