My 2007 Saturn Ion just had the master cylinder replaced,

Customer Question

My 2007 Saturn Ion just had the master cylinder replaced, but now my clutch is stiff. Is this normal?
JA: How many miles are on the clutch? Has it been slipping or sticking?
Customer: 50,000 miles and it has been sticking
JA: Are you fixing your Ion yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: A mechanic replaced the master cylinder and it stuck after it was fixed. I thought it was something to do with the job they did. I'm selling it and someone who didn't seem to drive manuels might have messed it up? It was after that I noticed it was stiff.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that's it,thank you.

Hello, my name is***** he replace the clutch master cylinder or the brake master cylinder?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Clutch master cylinder. It was having a problem with losing pressure before.

Also, the clutch was working smoothly before a potential buyer test drove it and really struggled at shifting. I don't think they had experience with clutches before.

Thank you. If the pedal is hard to press after the master cylinder was replaced then either the master cylinder is defective or it may have a failure in the slave cylinder. It is also possible that the throw out bearing is binding in the bell housing which will cause this. I have also seen the master installed incorrectly causing the pedal itself to bind so that should be checked also.

I figured out the clutch pedal was broken so I ordered a new one. Is there any easy to follow instructions available for that?
