hello i got 2004 saturn ian 2.2 a/c stops working after the car running 5 minutes
Thanks for trusting us with your problem. I have trained in the automotive field and currently work as a lead technician. I will be helping you todayThis is caused from the system being low on refridgerant. The pressure switch will produce a good signal to turn on the compressor but after the time it runs the levels drop below the bare minimim to run the compressor. You can add a can of R134a to the low pressure service port. Follow the lines at the compressor you will find two caps the smaller one of the two is the low pressure port. Hope this helps. Thanks
the system is full after about 5-10 minutes a/c compresor turns off and on but when it start first time it works normal haS CK ENGINE LIGHT THE CODE IS P0117
Excellant! The codes gives us the solution. You have a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor which is one of the signals needed to keep the compressor on.Most of the time it is just the sensor which costs about 20 bucks. Hope this helps
LET ME INSTALL NEW SENSOR AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU THANK U SO FAR

I JUST PUT THE SENSOR IT STILL DOING THE SAME THING AFTER 5-10 MIN. A/C COMPRESOR COMES ON AND GOES OFF ALSO I NOTICED THAT LOWER RADIATOR HOSE IS COLD
Sounds to me like the thermostat is not opening at all here.
WILL THE THERMOSTAT DO THAT STOPS THE AC COMPRESSOR
If the vehicle gets hotter than normal it cuts the ACIf lower hose is cold the system is not cooling at all.
BOTH HOSES ARE HOT NOW BUT AC WONT WORK ,WORKS ONLY WHEN ENGINE IS COLD
check the pressure switch see if it drops signal.
WHAT PRESSURE SWITCH AND HAW

Hi there. I am AutoGuy99 and would like to try and help you with your question. Are the cooling fans working when the A/C is on? Sounds like your A/C is building up high pressure and shutting itself off. This is usually caused by cooling fans not working, blockage in an A/C line, or too much freon in the system.
