Hi, thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. The other Experts and I are working on your answer. By the way, it would help us to know:

-Whats the problem you are having with your a/c?

-How many miles are on your Saturn?

-What have you already tried?

Thank you again for trusting us with your problem. Please reply as soon as possible so that we can finish answering your question.

My Vue has 88,000 miles on it. The problem is a/c blows cold while driving but is blowing warm at idle. If I bring the engine rpms up to 1500 it will blow cold again. I checked the low and high pressures with my gauges and they seem fine.

OK, this is a very common concern on these trucks. The problem is the compressor, its not working well under low rpms. If you have the gauges on the system, you will see at idle that the low side pressure is high around 50 psi and when you rev the engine up it goes down to about 30 psi. This is not a normal reading on this system and the problem is the internal valving inside the compressor. I see about 3 of these a week in the summer time on the Vues, seems the only car that has this issue.

Customer replied 331 days and 18 hours ago.

With the internal valving bad does that mean i have to change the compressor ?

Yes, the compressor needs to be replaced. There should be no debris inside the system so you do not have to flush or replace the expansion valve. Replace the compressor and you should be good to go. See a lot of these in Phoenix! Its going to be 107 deg all this week so I am sure I will start seeing them come in.
