I have a 1996 saturn sl2. After driving the car for a period of time and I stop my car and shut if off, when I go to restart the car it will not start. Sometimes I have to wait almost 2 hours for the car to start. Power comes on, key turns and all I hear is a click sound. Is it a battery issue, starter issue? I am pretty clueless when it comes to cars.

Hello JACUSTOMER, this is typically due to a starter problem. When a starter first begins to fail it will act up when it gets hot and expands. If you need more help let me know.
would you recommend replace the starter? anything I can do to by pass this until i get it fixed? I heard pouring cool water will help
I would try tapping on the starter lightly with a hammer. In a lot of cases this will break it free.
