Hi . Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. it generally is caused by a starter that is faulty..stays engaged to long or someone trying to start the car when its allready running...These cars are not known for this type of issue

The starter isn't faulty - - it checks out fine. Teeth have broken off of flex plate, so starter can't catch onto.
